On Alert

The traffic light changes again, the President's spokeman heads into the sunset, and Haley Barbour and Whorehouses

Short and late today...was on the Hill most of the day. Enjoy...

Torture? After reports that the US was forcing prisoners to listen to Barney and Heavy Metal, some have accused the US of torturing the prisoners. I don't know...listening to Barney for 10 hours? -

Stupid Republicans: Former RNC Chair and candidate for Governor of Mississippi Haley Barbour is standing by his remark that children are better off playing the piano in a whorehouse than in school -

Look Who's Running for President: More on Kerry's poorly designed public service program...making the poor indentured servants. Oh, and it apparently took him 5 years to graduate high school -

Look Who's Running for President 3: The Democratic Ballclub has agreed to a series of debates, in order to prevent having like 30 "forums" a month. Details should be worked out by the end of the week. You do have to wonder about this passage in the story though - "Some progress was apparently made at tonight's meeting, called by Mr. McAuliffe. Three campaign managers said in a joint telephone call from a bar near the White House, where they had retired for drinks, that Mr. McAuliffe would draft a proposal for a limited schedule of officially sanctioned events, which would presumably be televised nationally. "
Glad that Democratic policy is being made in good environments -

Look Who's Running for President 4: Here's some analysis from the last Democratic debate in Iowa over the weekend. Scary...Sharpton again has the best points: "We're saying that Bush is cutting taxes. He's shifting taxes. Because when you have to pay more money for mass transit, when you have to pay more money for sales tax, that's a tax on working-class people. … Taxes have gone up all over this country." " If only he were electable...but he may actually still put a scare into some of the other candidates. Bill Slatean has a great analysis -
