The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
Kerry rolls Super Tuesday, Arnolds civil disobedence, and enjoy the Bad John Edwards photos while they last
So who would have thought last week that when Super Tuesday was over, Kerry would have won 9 of the 10 contests, and the other one would have gone to Howard Dean, and not John Edwards, who was shut out? Just more proof, if you needed it, that nothing is done until the votes have been counted (and in the case of Florida, certified and stolen).
But that's just what happened yesterday, as Dean gets his first belated win in his home state of Vermont, keeping intact his record of never losing an election in his home state. Kerry mopped up everywhere else though, even winning an impressive win in Georgia, though not among independents and whites, something that should give his campaign some pause during the general election battle, especially in the Southern states.
The delegates have been posted on the scorecard, except for 4 states that are still not complete, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Minnesota. Now, MN was a caucus, GA was close, and MD had some trouble with the new electronic voting machines, but I can't fathom why Massachusetts is still out. Anyway, the rest have been added in, and Kerry has a commanding lead, which will only get bigger when the others are added in. In all likelihood, Kerry will be over the 50% mark of the delegates he needs to get the nomination. With Edward dropping out of the race today though, it looks like the game is up, though it will be a few more weeks until it's official.
Onto the election and non-electoral insanity...
And the Nominee is: Kerry just about wrapped it up yesterday, winning 9 of the 10 contests -

Dean and Vermont...still Friends: Vermont gave Howard Dean his only win of the primary season yesterday, in a "show of appreciation" for all he had done for the state. Dean's not planning to get back in the race though, and will announce a new progressive organization on March 18. -

Bad John Edwards Photo of the Day:
Just a note, this feature will continue as long as there are still photos available. Currently, the photos I feature are about a week old, so we should continue with the bad photo until a week or so after they stop.
Huh? What elections? No, no I'm here for the flower show!
Good ole Aaaaaaaaarnold: Schwarzenegger must have pissed off Bush when he said he didn't back a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, and that he'd be ok with it if the voters approved it -

Arnold is also getting himself into a bit of a philosophical jam on the gay marriage thing. He opposes San Francisco issuing licenses, because it violates state law, and it isn't proper to do that type of civil disobedience. But...the man smokes Cuban cigars all the time, which is against the law and a type of civil disobedience -

And in a strange story that is so messed up, I'm amazed it's not actually in NJ (well part of it is, which is why it's in this section, but not the screwed up part). A Philadelphia mother thought she lost her newborn child in a fire 6 years ago...but they never found a body. Then, at a birthday party, she saw her child with another woman, who had stayed at the house just before the fire. Turns out the woman had kidnapped the child and then set the fire -

Eisner could be in worse trouble than that though...early reports say over 40% of stockholders will not vote for him. If it gets over 50, it will be really hard for the board to keep Eisner on -
